Can't change Network Type (Device Type) for a Network Hardware Interface of BC9680 Base.

Hello,
I’m unable to change the Network Type (Device Type) for a Network Hardware Interface to Ethernet on BC9680 Base. We download config from aladdin and restart device then try to read config from device the IP address changed but Network Type don’t change.

Could you please provide support or guidance regarding this issue?
Thank you.

Hi,

I have same issue. I’m not able to change Network interface to Ethernet IP. Still switch back to Profinet IP. Any idea anybody?

Thank you

The Network Type (ETNT) does not have to be set on a BC9680 base. This setting will be set automaticly correct on boot. If profinet is detected on boot it will be set to profinet. If not it will go to normal ethernet (socket client or server). The same applies for Ethernet IP.

The difference between Profinet and Ethernet IP is decided by hardware. The BC9680 and BC9681--N100 cradled support Profinet. The BC9681--N200 and BC9680-***-ETCD90 support Ethernet IP.

On all models socket client mode and socket server mode (normal Ethernet) is available.

If you still have issues I would advise you to open a ticket via our website:

I have BC9680 and CM9680 PS9600 CONN MOD ETH and it is not possible to set Ethernet IP. I have several sets same PN’s PM9600 + BC9680 + CM9680 and it was possible to set Ethernet IP and after reconnection to Aladdin I could se that the Network Interface was successfully set to Ethernet IP. But with 1 one it is not possible. I tried to contact Datalogic tech. support but nobody reply to me.

Hi @Michal_Vesely,

The BC9680 does not support Ethernet IP. You need a different cradle if you need Ethernet IP.

(Be aware Ethernet IP is an industrial ethernet protocol like Profinet. Normal Ethernet is supported on all cradles)
