The fastest way to factory reset a device in your situation, would be to enter the recovery menu.
To do this on a SX5, while the device is powered off, long hold the power button + scan right until the first Datalogic logo appears, then release both.
From the recovery menu follow the instructions on screen to factory reset the device.
