Good morning.
We have started to use the Manageengine MDM mentioned above.
We use the the OEMConfig from Releases · datalogic/oemconfig · GitHub using Android Enterprise App.
We have set the config up. Everything looks to have pushed. However the settings never get applied.
This is also the case when we use the app from the play store its self.
Has anyone got any idea on how to change the datalogic settings with these apps? Any help would be very much appreciated as we are now banging our heads against a brick wall.
Thanking you in advance.
Hello @Conor_Graham,
As a Datalogic representative, I’d like to offer some insights on your OEMConfig issue.
OEMConfig is a standard tool that typically works well with most EMM/MDMs on the market. The interaction with OEMConfig is always mediated by the specific MDM implementation, based on standard Android interfaces.
Since we don’t provide direct technical support for specific EMMs or MDMs, I’d first recommend reaching out to Manageengine MDM technical support to investigate the problem.
For a more thorough analysis, it would be helpful to have the following information:
- Device model and FW version
- MDM version
- OEMConfig version you’re using
- List of parameters and values you’re trying to set
- Description of your procedure
- Any error messages reported by the MDM or device
From our side, here are some suggestions:
- Update your device to the latest FW available on our Mobile Computers Products page.
- Perform a factory reset before testing.
- Keep in mind that OEMConfig parameter application isn’t instantaneous - it can take up to several minutes due to its interaction with the Google Play system.
- Test by changing a single, easily verifiable parameter (e.g., set screen brightness to 100% and wait for the change to apply).
- During the test, observe whether any notifications or visual cues appear on the device that might signal OEMConfig activity. However, the absence of such visual cues does not necessarily mean that OEMConfig is not working.
- Enable ADB (Android Debug Bridge) and collect device Logcats via command line or Android Studio to check for OEMConfig activation or error messages.
- Ensure all parameter values you’re trying to change are consistent with valid device values.
Let us know if you need any further clarification or assistance!
