I have a Datalogic Skorpio X5. I have not used the device for a long time and forgot the pin. I have done a factory reset by doing the following…
Go into boot mode with Power and Right Scane.
Select Enterprise Reset… Get an OK message back.
Select Factory Settings… Get an OK message back
I then restart the device, and after the initial setup for Langeuange, Updates, Wifi etc… I get a message:
“Your phone was reset to factory settings. To use this phone, enter your previous PIN”
Thank you for sharing your experience with the Skorpio X5. The behavior you’re encountering is due to a standard Android security feature called Factory Reset Protection (FRP).
FRP is a system designed to prevent unauthorized use of Android devices in case of theft or loss.
The system is automatically activated when both an unmanaged Google account or Screen Lock are added to the device. When active, it requires entering the credentials of the Google account previously associated with the device or the PIN after an unauthorized factory reset.

Unfortunately, if you don’t remember the PIN or Google account credentials, it’s not possible to unlock the device on your own.
However, Datalogic offers a dedicated service to its customers with an active EaseOfCare contract to solve this problem by sending the device to our repair center.
To proceed, you must open an RMA (Return Material Authorization) and clearly specify that the problem is related to the FRP and a forgotten PIN.
After proper verification of ownership, the Google ID will be deleted during repair.
