We have a requirement for an X5 single slot cradle that needs ethernet connection to replace an old existing Japanese brand Android 7.0 OS device. As there is no single slot ethernet cradle for the X5, I was wondering if using a USB-C to ethernet dongle adaptor instead. The X5 detects the ethernet if the dongle is directly connected on the device usb-C port but cannot does not work if using the usb-c port of the single-slot pin (not wireless) cradle. Can this be enable using software only?
Hey Arnold,
I just helped a customer with something similar. What version is the Sx5 running? There is a setting you need to enable in order for it to work when the adapter is connected to the cradle.
It’s located here: Datalogic Settings > Ethernet > Enabled and it should start using the ethernet from the adapter.
